Next-Day Route Review Checklist =============================== An evening-before checklist for confirming tomorrow's stops, sequencing the route and loading the truck so a pest control technician starts the day productive instead of scrambling. [ ] Pull tomorrow's stop list and confirm every account is still active and has not already been serviced this cycle [ ] Mark the stops with hard time windows first: restaurants before opening, schools after hours, homeowners with limited availability [ ] Cluster the remaining flexible stops by neighborhood so the truck sweeps each area once instead of crossing town twice [ ] Order the clustered stops to avoid backtracking and write an estimated arrival time next to each one [ ] Check the weather forecast and move exterior perimeter or mosquito work if heavy rain or high wind is expected [ ] Slot any open callbacks into the route next to stops already scheduled in the same area [ ] Keep a short list of flexible stops nearby that can absorb a gap if a customer cancels or is not home [ ] Send reminder messages or calls to every customer on the route and note who has confirmed [ ] Read each property's treatment history and note anything the technician must know before walking up the driveway [ ] Record gate codes, alarm details, key locations and access instructions for every stop on the route sheet [ ] Flag pets, small children, chemical sensitivities and customer preferences such as baits instead of sprays [ ] List the target pests and planned treatment for each stop, including any chemistry rotation that is due [ ] Load the products the day actually needs, including bait, dust and specialty items for any termite or rodent stops [ ] Confirm a current label and safety data sheet is on the truck for every product loaded [ ] Check sprayers, dusters, bait stations and meters so equipment is clean, working and calibrated to label rates [ ] Verify personal protective equipment, a first aid kit and a spill kit are on board and in usable condition [ ] Confirm the technician's applicator license or certification card and the business registration are on the truck [ ] Prepare blank or prefilled application records and service report forms, or charge the device that holds them [ ] Note any state-required customer or neighbor notifications that must be made before or at the visit [ ] Leave a realistic buffer in the schedule for the two or three things that will go wrong [ ] Share the final route with the office so dispatch knows where each truck will be through the day
